Composites
Composite manufacture is booming and the number of options available on the market is rising rapidly. Composites are made by combining two components with very different chemical and physical properties to create a new highly resistant, lightweight and often highly rigid new material. One component forms the matrix and the other provides reinforcement.
Materials used for the matrix include polyamide, polyester, polycarbonate, polypropylene, epoxy resins and polyurethanes. Reinforcements include glass, carbon, aramid and natural fibres.
